Alaska Bear View and Fly907 are a small family-run operation—your pilot and guide Luke is the person who will manage all aspects of your trip. We don’t hire any outside pilots or work with any inexperienced new pilots.
We know Southcentral Alaska intimately from decades of backcountry travel to remote locations with our guests.
We stay small and independent so that we can be sure we have to have the highest quality of service and meet our high standards of safety. We have worked very hard to have a good reputation.

Our STORY
Alaska Bear View, operated by Fly907 is an Anchorage-based air taxi and guide service operated out of Lake Hood Seaplane Base.
Luke Miller, owner and lifelong Alaskan, grew up running the rivers and exploring the Alaska Range at his family’s fishing lodge. At the age of 14, Luke started to fly with this father and obtained his commercial pilot’s license at 19. His passion for flying throughout Alaska’s wilderness has been unwavering.
Alaska Bear View operates daily bear viewing trips Lake Clark and Katmai National Park. The daily tours will depart from our base in Anchorage, Alaska. You will then join the bears on foot with one of our experienced guides. Our flights take about 1-2.5 hours each way depending on what tour you pick. On clear days you will see glaciers, volcanoes and whales along the way. Lake Clark and Katmai National Park are the best places in the world to view grizzly bears.

Bear Viewing Safety
Our number one concern is bear viewing safety. Fly907 who operates for Alaska Bear View has a perfect safety record and and prides itself on having a clean and well maintained fleet of aircraft.
Once you are in bear country, your guide’s top concern is your safety. They are trained and familiar with the local bears and know all the safe practices to keep everyone out of harms way. We want to appreciate these amazing animals and continue to have the oppotunity to see the bears up close and personal in wild.
Your Itinerary to Lake Clark National Park
Depending on what time you book your tour you’ll meet Luke, your pilot and guide at the airplane for the day’s adventure. He’ll show you the plane, give a safety briefing, and answer any questions. Then we load up the plane and fly along one of the most spectacular routes in Alaska. If it’s clear, we could catch a view of Denali and the highest peaks of the Alaska Range to the north. As we turn south and cross Cook Inlet, you’ll see the snow-covered Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Spurr volcanos soaring above the ocean. If we’re lucky, we may spot beluga whales in the inlet.
Once on the ground, we’ll review safety protocols and then get busy watching bears. In a single day, we may see adult bears busying fishing while cubs play around. Sometimes the males fight over a mate. Each day is a little different!
Food can be brought in the plane and ate next to the plane. Food is always left in the plane when bear viewing. There should be time for beachcombing and exploring all around the area to get new angles. After two to three hours of watching bears, it’s time to load up the plane again, take off from the beach for another beautiful flight along the rivers and mountains and finish the day at the base at Lake Hood.
